opportunity: Graphic novelist

Brief: To respond to stories collected from people living with invisible conditions and disabilities to create initial character and world designs for a graphic novel Toolkit to promote better understanding of living with invisible conditions.

We are looking for a dynamic and independent graphic novelist to transform testimony gathered from people living with a range of invisible conditions such as HIV, chronic fatigue, autism and mental health issues to begin our journey towards developing a full Toolkit for helping people better understand and support those around them, on public transport, at work and at home.

If your work is bold, clear, colourful and has a great sense of humour then we would like to hear from you.

This stage would be about creating a style for the characters and the world with further funding currently being sought to create the final Toolkit.

Your images would be shared on Root Experience’s social media and website as part of the campaign to secure this future funding.

Fee: £500
